Pam's Jams - Meet the Maker
Take some time to meet Pam Alden, the creator of her yummy jams!
How did your business get its start?
Making jams has always been a passion of mine. I have been giving them as gifts for many years. I have had numerous people tell me that I should sell my jams and so I decided to take their advice.
What sparks your creativity the most?
When I sample a jam to someone and the expression on their face when they taste it is the most rewarding part of what I do. Knowing when they take it home, they will be experiencing that enjoyment many times, brings me great pleasure. Because of that, I strive to create very unique flavors so I can see that expression of enjoyment on their face when they taste my jam.
What is the best thing about running your own business? The worst?
The best thing about running my own business is that it is very rewarding to build a business of your own and I am my own boss. The worst part is that you have to do it all by yourself - you wear many, many hats.
What music do you listen to while you create? What inspires you?
I don't have a specific genre of music or artist that I listen to. I like to listen to upbeat music that makes me want to dance and have fun while I am creating jams.
What is your favorite product that you make? What is your customer favorite?
My favorite jam is the Palisade peach jam. My customer favorite is the Strawberry Lemon Marmalade.
You will find Pam in person at the Gypsy Farmhouse Market at the Denver Queen City Horse show or on Facebook.
